will take place later on in the Summer – date to be announced. Croesy & Woodlands CC Croesy and Woodlands 3rd XI Captain for the coming season will be Huw Kear and the 4th XI Captain will be John Edmonds.
Woodlands CC We are very pleased to announce our merger with Woodlands CC. The merger is of benefit to both clubs and will enable our 3rd XI and 4th XI to compete in the Welsh Club Cricket Conference as Croesyceiliog/Woodlands 1st XI and 2nd XI. These matches will be played at Woodlands CC which is situated at Woodland Road.
Steve Watkins We are delighted to announce that Steve Watkins is our joining our senior coaching set up and he will work alongside Mike Elliott and our respective captains at our indoor and outdoor training sessions. Steve is a former Croesyceiliog CC player who has played 1st Class County Cricket for Worcestershire and has previously represented Wales (most famously against the fearsome West Indies side of the early 90’s). Steve is currently a highly rated and very well respected Level 3 qualified coach working for the England and Wales Cricket Board and his acquisition will benefit the Club hugely.
Indoor Nets Indoor nets will be held at the University of Wales, Newport, Caerleon Campus. Nets will be held from 1pm until 4pm from Sunday 13th March to Sunday 10th April inclusive. Times of senior and junior training sessions will be announced at a later date. |
Croesyceiliog Cricket club boasts 4 senior teams and a full Junior set up. The 1st squad play in the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire Cricket League Premier Division and the 2nd's play in the Division 1 2nd' League. The 3rd & 4th squads play in the Thomas Carroll Welsh Club Cricket Conference. Croesyceiliog Cricket Club has a long and proud record of producing numerous Gwent county and Wales international players and that is certainly still the case today with no less than 8 current Welsh internationals and 19 Gwent county players in our present junior squads including 5 girls, a truly superb record for the club and one that many clubs could only dream of. Last season no less that 7 of the Under 13 squad were selected for Gwent with 4 going on to represent Wales. An additional fee of £20 will be made for each additional child within each family)
Youth (u/9) - £15
New youth members must pay their membership in full before having use of the indoor net facilities as they need to be covered under the Club’s insurance policy.
